Get into the spirit of the Elizabethan age at a four course, candlelit feast in the beautiful setting of the Tudor New Building, commemorating the Cathedral’s connection with Mary, Queen of Scots.

Get into the spirit of the Elizabethan age at a supper commemorating the Cathedral’s connection with Mary, Queen of Scots. In the company of the costumed re-enactors and with period music provided by Dante Ferrara, enjoy a four course, candlelit feast in the beautiful setting of the Tudor New Building. The wine and ale will flow, and there will be the opportunity to preview a the Tudor Queens Wardrobe Exhibition, showing replicas of the gowns shown in 16th century portraits, made by Tudor Dreams Historical Costumier.

Mary was buried at Peterborough Cathedral in August 1587, 5 months after her execution at nearby Fotheringhay Castle. The Dean, Richard Fletcher, whose son John was a playwright and associate of Shakespeare, officiated at both her execution and her funeral.

Costumed entertainment from "The Tudors Living History Group" as Mary, Queen of Scotland, Lord Darnley, and Ladies in waiting, who are returning following rave reviews of the Katharine of Aragon Festival.
