Summer Recital: David Humphreys, organ

David Humphreys is Assistant Director of Music at Peterborough Cathedral, where his duties include accompanying and directing the Cathedral Choir. He was previously at St Edmundsbury Cathedral. David is increasingly in demand as a recitalist: he recently played at venues including Westminster and St Paul’s Cathedrals and had released an acclaimed CD in the English Cathedral series. Reviewing the recording, Gramophone magazine praised him for his

‘beautifully deft phrasing and subtle handling of the instrument’.

His recital will include works by Bach, Mendelssohn and Elgar.

The recital is free of charge and everyone is welcome. Donations will be invited towards costs.

This event is part of the 21st June to 6th September Summer Recital series on Wednesdays at 1.00pm.
