Learn how to take some stunning shots of the Cathedral whilst finding out more about its construction and history. The workshop is led by experienced photographer, curator and tutor, Adrian Stone.

Beginners' Photography Tour

Expert advice will be on hand to advise on different types of shots to help you achieve the best results.

The shape of the session will be broadly as follows:

Welcome and introduction

Tour of the Cathedral exterior and an introduction to the Cathedral’s history and construction.

Photographs of gravestones, buttresses, cloisters etc.

Tour of the Cathedral interior and a summary of the role of the Cathedral today.

Photographs of stained glass, choir stalls, altar, font, lectern, statues and ceilings.

Summary and reference to the many spiritual, cultural and social opportunities at the Cathedral.

Next steps in photography.

Please bring your own camera. All photographic equipment is suitable, including camera phones, although please note that the focus of the tour is on the selection of shots and style of photography. It will not be possible to give detailed advice on the use of individual equipment.

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and shoes suitable for walking on uneven surfaces.
