About the theme 'Only the Brave'

The everyday life of a disciple is an adventure. We face hundreds of decisions daily and the right choices are often the most difficult. God calls us to choose the costly life of following Christ. It takes sacrifice and courage. It takes perseverance. We will need robust minds, passionate hearts and active hands as we inch towards our great reward.

We do none of this alone. Using the book of James, we’ll explore what it is to live a life of determined discipleship and give a rallying cry to join the everyday adventure that lies ahead. We are discipled to make disciples. We get one chance at this life – let’s live it.

Time: 7.30 pm.
Tickets: via the Parish Office 01733 576541 or Eventbrite

This entertaining evening is suitable for all ages and faiths. Pure indulgence! "A Hugely entertaining hour" The Times

This show is about Martin Luther. And it’s for people who aren’t quite sure which Luther we’re talking about. With a feeling of Horrible Histories and Monty Python, A Monk’s Tale helps the audience understand the unfamiliar medieval mindset, and exactly what Luther was trying to do with his 95 Theses, which sparked one of the most significant movements in history: the Reformation.

The show is light, accessible and funny, using sketches, and songs to explain the specifics of the story: the indulgences, purgatory, the sacraments and theological disputes of the period. As the play unfolds, the audience will be informed and challenged as well as entertained and amused.

Suitable for all ages and all faiths, as well as skeptics, the fast-paced hour-long show also covers the Wycliffe and the Lollards, popes, princes and the seismic changes brought on by the internet of its time, the Printing Press.

Tickets are £7.50, concessions £5 (under 16’s and over 65’s).

All lives are unique. So varied and so diverse, there is not one life the same as another. Jesus knows this – that is why He meets us in different ways. ‘All Things New: Stories of Transformed Lives’ is packed full of stories featuring the real life experiences of several people. This book invites you to discover how they came to meet Jesus for themselves in a variety of ways. It explores why we all need Jesus in our lives as well as how you can find Him for yourself.

Foreword by Patrick Johnstone (author: Operation World)

'Real life is a struggle, it's sweaty and hard work and these stories reflect that. It's refreshing to read about the tension our faith holds with the active good news and the now and not yet' - Cris Rogers (author, Rector of All Hallows Bow)
